What was your PhD experience like on the whole?

Yeah I loved it, the MA was hard because transitioning from a taught undergraduate degree where you've got hundreds of people and that kind of thing to suddenly doing independent research with no-one around was difficult, so I found that transition year hard. But once I got used to it during the MA, the PhD itself was fine, it was liberating, it was exciting. It was also something that was very boring and mundane and very tedious but overall I really enjoyed the PhD experience, it was everything that I'd wanted – that I was hoping it was going to do.
