Did your desire to have children affect the decisions you made about going into teaching?

Yes.

Because there are obviously some advantages to being a teacher when you have children?

Absolutely it did and it was a factor when I was considering things like when to leave Barclays because in a way Barclays was a safe job, it was really well paid, it had excellent maternity, and it would have paid for me to have waited, done a few more years of Barclays and have my children, but I wanted to get out of there I think.
